"Two days before Thanksgiving, our lame duck legislature has given us one thing to be thankful for: it couldn't find the votes to pass its own damaging and flawed budget proposals.

"Our leaders have ignored California's clear call for change and proposed more of the same at a time when California's families need support and leadership more than ever.  

"The working men and women of California will demand that the new class of legislators sworn in Monday heed voters' call for change.  Working men and women won't stand by and watch the things we care about - our schools, our healthcare, and our communities -- be destroyed by politics as usual."
